Alt text, easy and transparent
When you publish a post on Bluesky with an image that has no alternative text, the bot writes the text for you and adds it to the post within a few seconds.
The bot only asks for permission to create and delete your posts, which it needs to recreate them with the alt text. It does not read private messages and does not change your profile.
How it works
- 1 · You connect your accountYou sign in with your account and authorize the bot.
- 2 · You postAs usual, even without writing the alt text.
- 3 · The alt text appearsThe bot describes the image in the language of the post.
To add the alt text, the post is recreated identical, with the same link. If it already has likes, reposts, replies or quotes, the bot publishes the alt text as a reply in the thread so that the counters are not reset: you can change this in the settings. Alt text you write yourself is never touched.
For now the bot only works with Bluesky posts. Posts you publish from other compatible apps, such as mu.social, work too: if the post shows up on bsky.app, the bot handles it. It does not handle other content from the Atmosphere (the apps built on AT Protocol), such as Leaflet articles.
